New Era Fiber LLC is an alpaca and llama fiber processing company. We provide award winning yarns and roving for the quality conscious knitter, crocheter, weaver or fiber artist.
We have developed a line of original knitting patterns for use with alpaca fiber. These special patterns allow for the use of 100% alpaca for scarves, gloves, sweaters, and more.
Our alpaca fiber is a natural hypo-allergenic product grown and processed in America. Alpacas are sheared yearly to maintain their health and to harvest their beautiful fleece.
Because we are alpaca owners and breeders ourselves, we understand why each alpaca fleece is special. Each fleece has an important use, from that very special cria fleece, to your favorite old guy's fiber.
At New Era Fiber, we treat each lot of fiber the way we would want our own fiber to be handled. We can help you make decisions as to blending, combining, or yarn style. We can help you make the best choices to get the most value from your harvest. We pledge to continue the tradition of quality that New Era Fiber has established and maintained since its inception in 2000.

* Customer Service
We have a price change, and for once it is NOT an increase!
We acquired some new equipment, and as a result, we are narrowing the price difference between huacaya and suri fibers. We still have an up-charge on the pre-spinning preparation of suri, but no longer on spinning, etc.
The new equipment that we have is a fiber separator and lace weight spinning equipment. We are very excited about what we are producing. As predicted, the yield on yarns has dropped, but the quality has improved. We are returning all the "unusable" fleece to you so you don't really lose it.
The new spinner will allow us to spin finer yarns (the kind sock machines like). We are very pleased that we can spin as fine as 7500 yards of single ply per pound.
We have added a core spun rug yarn maker, and as before, we offer spinning of craft and rug grade yarns.
We are working on getting finished good for our customers. The acquisition of the new equipment was the first step. Now to the next phase. Keep checking back for new developments!
